FROM MY WORLD

The High Price of Free Traffic

I spent a year doing everything the “gurus” told me to do. Blogging every day. Hustling on social media. Grinding out keyword strategies.

And you know what I got? A whopping 1,000 subscribers…who didn’t open my emails. Didn’t click. Didn’t buy.

They just sat there. Like digital ghosts.

And to top it off? When I finally emailed them, a bunch hit unsubscribe or even marked me as spam.

It was brutal.

But here’s the thing. That failure taught me something most marketers never figure out: Not all lists are created equal.

You can fill your database with people who’ll never spend a dime. Or… You can build a list of buyers—people who are already spending money in your niche.

And that’s exactly what I did.

I stopped chasing free traffic and started buying my way in front of the right audience.

But here’s the kicker: I didn’t just throw cash at Facebook ads (because I didn’t have cash).

I found something better—email drops.

Instead of convincing cold strangers to join my list, I rented access to lists that were already packed with buyers. People who were used to spending money.

Think about it—who’s the most likely person to buy a Cadillac? Someone who already owns four Cadillacs.

The same is true online. Buyers buy.

So I started targeting people who were already opening emails, already buying products, already taking action.

And guess what? It worked. My list grew. My sales grew. And as I got better, I added upsells, turning a single $9.95 product into a 4-offer funnel.

With the same traffic, I started making more money—a lot more money.

And the funny thing? People still ask me, “Aren’t you worried the market is too crowded? What if someone else already sold to them?”

Nope. Not worried. Because someone else selling to them doesn’t hurt me—it actually helps.

Why? Because they’ve already been trained to buy. And buyers buy.

That’s the mindset shift I had to make—the shift from chasing freebies to focusing on buyers. And that’s when everything changed.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

Polarize, Repel, Profit

Let’s talk about Repulsion Marketing—the art of pushing away the wrong people so you can pull in the right ones.

Sounds crazy, right? Who in their right mind would repel potential buyers?

But here’s the truth: trying to please everyone is the fastest way to go broke.

Think about it—when was the last time you respected someone who tried too hard to be liked? Exactly.

The same applies to marketing. If your message sounds like it’s desperate for approval, you’ll attract lukewarm leads and tire-kickers. You know, the people who:

  • Ask 50 questions but never buy.

  • Bargain like they’re at a flea market.

  • Vanish the moment you talk price.

That’s why Repulsion Marketing works like magic. Instead of chasing clients, you polarize your audience. You take a stand, make bold claims, and push away anyone who isn’t a good fit.

And guess what? That’s when your ideal clients start chasing YOU.

Take Donald Trump (love him or hate him). The guy’s a master at this. He doesn’t beg for votes—he divides the room. Half the crowd loves him. Half can’t stand him. But everyone’s paying attention.

That’s the goal. Stand for something—and stand against something.

Here’s how to do it in your marketing:

  1. Draw a Line in the Sand. What do you believe? Say it loud and clear—even if it offends a few people.

  2. Filter Out the Wrong People. Don’t be afraid to repel those who’ll never buy from you. The tire-kickers? Let them walk.

  3. Speak to Your Tribe. Focus on the people who get you—the ones who share your values and believe in what you do.

  4. Own Your Uniqueness. Forget blending in. Be so unapologetically YOU that people either love you or leave you.

At the end of the day, lukewarm won’t cut it. You need people who are all-in or all-out.

Because here’s the deal: polarizing brands make money—boring ones don’t.

CURATED READS

Why Winners Win (And How You Can Too)

Success isn’t random. It’s engineered—and Ridgely Goldsborough’s "The Great Ones" proves it.

This book pulls back the curtain on what separates the top 1% from the rest of the crowd.

Spoiler alert: It’s not luck, talent, or connections. It’s how they think.

Ridgely breaks down the mindsets and mental habits of high achievers and lays out a blueprint for success that anyone can follow—without selling your soul or working 20-hour days.

You’ll discover:

  • How your belief systems silently dictate your results (and how to reprogram them).

  • The secret to unstoppable confidence—even when things go sideways.

  • Why most people sabotage their own success and never realize it.

But fair warning—this book doesn’t let you off the hook.

It’ll make you take a hard look at the stories you’re telling yourself… and then show you how to rewrite them so they actually serve you. If you’re tired of feeling stuck and ready to start thinking like the greats, this book is your manual.
