FROM MY WORLD

The Emotional Shortcut to Converting Like Crazy

Let me ask you this: how often do you convince someone with cold, hard logic? Rarely, right?

Maybe you’ve tried giving your buddy “rational” advice only to have them nod, smile, and completely ignore it.

Or—better yet—you’ve tried reasoning with your spouse in the middle of an emotional debate.

Spoiler: logic doesn’t stand a chance.

So why do most marketers make the same mistake when trying to sell?

I used to think facts would win people over. I’d craft long-winded explanations, lay out bulletproof systems, and back it all with irrefutable proof.

Know what I got in return? Crickets.

Here’s what changed the game: emotion rules the decision-making process.

The best marketers spend 80% of their effort creating an airtight emotional case and 20% using logic to validate it.

Think about it. When people buy a Ferrari, are they buying horsepower and torque stats? No! They’re buying the feeling of roaring down the highway, the envy of their neighbors, and the thrill of luxury.

If you want your prospects to act, you need to tap into what drives them emotionally. Their fears. Their dreams. Their pain points.

Here’s a trick: Head to Amazon, look up best-selling books in your niche, and read the one-star reviews.

Seriously. People’s frustrations in those reviews will reveal the raw, emotional pain points you need to address in your messaging.

Want to sell better? Stop leaning on logic and start mastering emotion. Because until you do, your prospects will nod, smile, and walk away—just like your buddy ignoring your advice.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

The Fishing Formula

Here’s a dirty little secret: The most successful marketers don’t chase clients—they attract them. They make it look effortless. So, what’s their secret sauce?

Think of marketing like fishing. The bait you use determines the fish you catch.

Want bigger fish? Better bait. Want fewer "tire kickers" and more buyers? Then you’ve got to choose your bait wisely and put it where the right fish swim.

But here’s the kicker: The bait isn’t your product. It’s your content.

And not just any content—content that solves problems your ideal clients are actively struggling with. They’re already Googling solutions.

Your job? Be the solution they find.

But before you whip out your laptop and start crafting your masterpiece, here’s the step most people skip: Get crystal-clear on who you’re trying to attract.

If you don’t know who you’re fishing for, you’re wasting bait.

Trust me, I made that mistake early on. I was marketing to people like me.  Big mistake. I’m not my best customer.

You need to step into your customer’s shoes, understand their fears, frustrations, and fantasies, and then speak directly to that.

Here’s how you can start:

  1. Study Your Ideal Client – Find out where they hang out, what they read, and what keeps them up at night.

  2. Create Problem-Solving Content – Address the exact challenges they face. (Pro tip: Think tactical and emotional.)

  3. Focus on Their Fears and Aspirations – Show them you get them better than they get themselves.

It’s not about casting the widest net—it’s about casting the right one. The difference? Endless frustration versus clients showing up eager to buy.

Here’s your challenge: Get out there today and have real conversations with your market. Find their pain points. Then, turn that pain into your next blog post, video, or email. You’ll be amazed at the difference when you’re speaking directly to their hearts.

Remember, it’s not about being a guru; it’s about being useful.

CURATED READS

Motivation, Redefined

If you’ve ever wondered why some people thrive in their work while others just go through the motions, Daniel H. Pink’s Drive will blow your mind.

Forget the old-school carrot-and-stick approach to motivation—this book dismantles that myth faster than a Ferrari hits 60 mph.

Pink reveals the three elements of real motivation: autonomy, mastery, and purpose. It’s not about dangling bonuses or threatening penalties. It’s about giving people control, helping them improve, and connecting their work to something bigger than themselves.

Why does this matter for you? Because understanding motivation isn’t just for managers or coaches—it’s for anyone looking to inspire themselves or others to achieve more. Imagine creating a business, a team, or even a life where everyone is genuinely drivennot by obligation, but by passion.

Here’s the kicker: If you’re building an online business, understanding what motivates you and your audience is the secret sauce to unstoppable growth. Grab this book today, and let it change the way you think about work, success, and achievement.
