FROM MY WORLD
The Step-by-Step List Building Playbook
I remember sitting in front of my laptop years ago, staring at my dashboard, realizing something that honestly made me feel both excited and a little stupid at the same time. I had just sent an email to my list of about 100 people, and it took me maybe ten minutes to write, proofread, and schedule it. That was it. Ten minutes of work, and I was done for the day.
A year later, I was doing the exact same thing. Same laptop. Same ten minutes. Except now there were over 1,000 people on the list.
That’s when it hit me in a way no course or guru ever explained properly. The effort didn’t grow with the income. The leverage did.
Most people look at list building and see complexity. They see email marketing platforms like GetResponse or ActiveCampaign and feel overwhelmed. They hear about lead magnets, capture pages, traffic strategies, automation, and they assume this is some technical maze built for marketers with huge budgets and teams.
But here’s the truth.
List building is not complicated. It’s disciplined.
You pick a platform and stick with it. You create a specific lead magnet, even if it’s just a simple PDF that solves one narrow problem. You build a capture page using the same software so you don’t waste money. Then you drive traffic, whether that’s paid ads like Facebook or Google, or strategic partnerships like email drops. And you keep going.
What destroys people isn’t difficulty. It’s inconsistency.
They start collecting emails. They get excited. Then they stop sending. They don’t set up automation. They don’t build the follow-up. They don’t show up consistently in the inbox. And then they say email doesn’t work.
It works. You just have to respect it.
When you build automated sequences, whether that’s a 7-day welcome series or a 100-day follow-up, you are creating a system that sells at 2am, on holidays, while you’re with your family, or even while you’re on a plane. If I had to manually email every single person who joins my list each day, I would need an army of assistants just to keep up. Instead, the software handles it, and I focus on growth.
And here’s the part nobody talks about enough.
If you have 100 people on your list, sending an email takes ten minutes. If you have 10,000 people, it still takes ten minutes. Your reach becomes ten times bigger, but your workload does not.
That is leverage. That is freedom. That is why list building wins.

SMILE, THEN SCROLL

MY GIFT FOR YOU
Happening Soon: What to Do When Your 401(k) Isn’t Enough to Retire
You showed up every day for 30 years, did what they asked, and maybe even saved what you could in the 401k…
But it might not even be enough to retire off of… and you wouldn’t want to go back to another corporate soul-sucking job, having to stand on your feet all day, or commute in rush hour traffic…
That’s why I want to show you a different approach, one you can take control of with your own hands…
That right now, thousands of regular people in their 50s and 60s have used to create a reliable income from home without previous experience.
The system doesn't require you to become a social media influencer or figure out complicated software.
In fact, you can run it from your kitchen table at whatever time you have available.
I’m going live today at 2pm EST to show you how you can get started with it yourself.
I'll show you how to build an asset that pays you regularly without needing a massive upfront investment to get started.

MINDSET MAKEOVER
Tiny List, Serious Money
Most people think they need a big list before they can make real money. They tell themselves, “Once I hit 10,000 subscribers, then I’ll take this seriously,” and they blame small numbers for small results.
Here’s the truth.
Your list isn’t too small. Your commitment is.
I’ve seen people with 500 subscribers outperform others with 20,000 because they understood that size is only one factor. Quality matters. Influence matters. If your subscribers open, click, and trust you, you can generate sales consistently. If they ignore you, a massive list won’t rescue you.
And influence doesn’t magically appear. It’s built through consistent follow-up and clear offers. Most people hesitate to pitch because they’re afraid of unsubscribes, so they under-communicate and then wonder why revenue is inconsistent.
Revenue follows relevance and repetition. If someone leaves because you made an offer, they were never your buyer anyway.
So here’s the challenge.
Start treating your current list like it’s already valuable, because if you show up and lead properly, it is.

FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE
How To Monetize A Tiny List With Greg Johnson
If you’re building a list but struggling to squeeze real revenue out of it, this conversation with Greg Johnson from Email Magic will reset how you think about communication.
One thing he does shocked me at first. His welcome series is just three emails, and in the first one he asks people to hit reply immediately. Not to “whitelist” him. Not to jump through hoops. Just hit reply. Even a blank email works. That simple action dramatically improves deliverability because inbox providers see real engagement.
But here’s what matters more.
He filters hard in email two. If you don’t like what’s coming, unsubscribe. He’d rather have a smaller, high-quality list than a bloated one full of ghosts. That’s influence over size.
The goal isn’t perfect open rates. It’s response and relevance.
If you want to learn how to extract more value from every subscriber without destroying your list, this episode will show you exactly where most people mess it up.

CURATED READS
Email Persuasion by Ian Brodie
This one showed me that email isn’t about clever copy. It’s about conversation.
Brodie breaks down how to write emails that feel personal while still driving sales, and he makes it painfully clear that most people overcomplicate this. You don’t need hype. You need relevance, story, and a clear next step.
What hit me hardest was the idea that every email should move the relationship forward, even if it’s a small move. That’s how trust compounds. That’s how offers land without feeling forced.
If you’re building a list and not deliberately improving how you communicate, you’re leaving money sitting in inboxes.
Read it. Then rewrite your next five emails better.
