Have you ever signed up for something at 3 AM?

You drop your email, thinking, Sure, I’ll check this out later.

And then… You don’t.

Here’s why:

People aren’t signing up because they’re desperate to buy from you. They’re just curious. Maybe they were up late watching George Carlin stand-up, and your ad distracted them for a second. They clicked, opted in, and then—just like that—forgot all about you.

That’s why most marketers struggle to convert their list into actual sales. Their emails are just background noise in a crowded inbox.

So, how do you fix this?

Step 1: Stay relevant.
Your emails need to speak directly to what’s happening in your prospect’s life right now. If you’re just sending generic “Hey, check this out” emails, you’re already lost.

Step 2: Make them feel urgency.
Nobody acts on “I’ll get to this later.” Later never comes. You need to create urgency—make it feel like NOT acting will cost them something real.

Step 3: Adjust your offer.
Most marketers are too lazy (or too stubborn) to tweak their offer when it’s not converting. But if people keep clicking and not buying, something is off. Experiment. Find the real reason they’re hesitating and remove that friction.

Bottom line?

People don’t owe you their attention. You have to earn it every single day.

Because the moment you become another unopened email in their inbox, you’re dead to them.
