Instincts That Outsmart Abundance
A couple of scientists ran a simple experiment.
They placed two cookie jars in front of a group of people—one jar was overflowing with cookies, and the other had only two left. Then they asked:
“Which cookie do you want?”
And, surprise, surprise—most people wanted the cookie from the nearly empty jar.
Then they took it a step further…
They let people watch as the full jar got emptied, one cookie at a time, until it also had only two left.
And guess what? People still wanted the cookie from the now-empty jar more.
Why?
Because of scarcity.
As humans, we are wired to want what’s running out. It’s in our DNA. Thousands of years ago, food and shelter were scarce, and safety was scarce. Our ancestors had to grab what they could before it was gone forever.
And guess what? That instinct never went away.
That’s why marketers who use genuine scarcity always make more sales. I’m talking about:
Time-sensitive discounts (price goes up in 48 hours)
Limited bonuses (act now, get an exclusive gift)
Limited spots (only 10 seats left for this workshop)
The key word here? Genuine.
People can smell fake scarcity from a mile away. If you’re selling a digital product and claim you “only have 10 copies left,”… yeah, no one’s buying that.
But if you say, “This special price disappears in 48 hours,” and then actually remove the discount when the timer runs out? That’s real. That’s scarcity done right.
In my own business, I use scarcity all the time. On bizopemails.com, customers get seven days to grab a done-for-you email service with a special bonus—after that, the bonus vanishes. On leads.igor.soloads.com, customers get 48 hours to grab leads at a lower price—after that, the deal is gone.
And guess what? People act fast because they know they’ll miss out if they don’t.
So here’s my challenge to you:
Look at your offer. Does it have real scarcity?
If not, you’re leaving a ton of money on the table.

When you have a precise goal, you can break it down into daily actions. You stop wandering and start executing.
And here’s the secret: small wins create momentum.
Ever tried to quit sugar? Instead of going cold turkey, just cut down from 3 teaspoons to 2. Then 2 to 1. Then none.
It’s the same with business—set a goal that feels just out of reach but not impossible, and stack small wins until you’re unstoppable.
3. Visualization—Are You Training Your Brain to Win?
Your brain is a filter.
When you buy a new car, suddenly, you see that same model everywhere. It was always there—you just never noticed.
Your brain works the same way with opportunities.
If you focus on why "the market is too hard" or "everyone is ahead of me," guess what? You’ll find proof that you’re right.
But if you train yourself to look for paths to success, you’ll start seeing them everywhere.
Successful people program their brains to notice money-making opportunities—while everyone else is busy looking for reasons they can’t succeed.
So ask yourself—what are you training your brain to see?
Because your reality follows your focus.
Most people know these ideas. But few apply them.
