FROM MY WORLD

The $5,000 Garage Door That Changed My Mindset

You know you’ve leveled up in life when a $5,000 garage door disaster doesn’t ruin your week.

Not because problems stop happening (spoiler: they don’t). But because you realize that most headaches in life come with a price tag… and being able to pay it changes everything.

Here’s what went down.

One fine day, my wife was in a hurry. And in her rush, she forgot one minor detail: opening the garage door before backing out.

CRASH.

Door bent. Windshield shattered. Five grand gone in a blink.

Now, here’s the kicker. Instead of yelling, blaming, or dragging this incident into dinner party conversations for the next 20 years (you know the kind of husband who does that), I just waited for the garage door guy to give me a number.

He said $5,000.
I said, “Fine. Fix it.”

End of story.

Why? Because I know I can make five grand just by hitting “send” on a campaign to my list.

But here’s what struck me: most couples would’ve turned this accident into a full-blown war. Screaming, finger-pointing, divorce lawyers getting fat checks, kids traumatized, and the garage door still broken.

And all because… five grand is a lot of money for most people.

Here’s the ugly truth:
Money is the fuel that lets you move past life’s nonsense without burning your relationships in the process.

Growing up, money in my household was the #1 cause of fights. “Why’d you buy those shoes?” “You put it on the card?!” “We don’t have money!” Every day felt like a financial battleground.

But now? Money isn’t a trigger. It’s just a tool. No arguments, no resentment, no dinner-party shaming.

And the peace of mind that comes with that? Worth way more than five grand.

So here’s my challenge to you: what’s one money-related headache in your life right now that wouldn’t even register as a blip if you had more breathing room?

Because the truth is, the goal isn’t to live without problems. The goal is to make your problems solvable.

MY GIFT FOR YOU

What’s $3.99 Worth to You?

There’s a window in every online entrepreneur’s life where they ask:

“Why the hell am I working so hard… and still not making real money?”

I hit that wall years ago. Then I built something that flipped the script.

I wrote this short book to show you exactly what I did — the system I still use today to turn emails into income, without chasing trends or dancing for clicks.

And yeah — it costs less than gas to get to work.

But don’t let the price fool you.

This isn’t a book you buy. It’s a fork in the road.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

A Manifesto Against Performative Busyness

Most people think “discipline” means cold showers, 5 am gym sessions, and grinding until your eyeballs bleed.

But here’s the truth bomb: discipline isn’t about doing hard things… It’s about doing the right things.

And that’s a huge difference.

See, every one of us has a level 10 problem—the big, hairy monster holding us back. It might be money stress, a failing marriage, a health scare, or a business bottleneck. But instead of tackling it head-on, most people avoid it by staying busy with “productive distractions.”

They’ll read another book, binge another podcast, or chase some shiny new challenge online. It feels good, it looks good on Instagram, and strangers clap for them. Meanwhile, their real problem keeps festering… until it blows up their life.

That’s not discipline. That’s procrastination in disguise.

The real challenge—the hardest challenge of all—isn’t another cold plunge or 100 push-ups a day. It’s sitting down, shutting out the noise, and thinking.

Thinking about where you’re going.
Thinking about what actually matters.
Thinking about the one or two things that, if solved, would make the rest of your problems irrelevant.

But here’s the catch: most people would rather sweat through a marathon than face their own thoughts. And that’s why they keep running in circles.

So here’s your mindset shift for today:

  • Stop mistaking busyness for discipline.

  • Put level 10 effort into your level 10 problems.

  • And for the love of sanity, schedule time to think.

Because at the end of the day, true freedom doesn’t come from doing more… it comes from finally doing what matters most.

CURATED READS

Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin

This month’s pick is a book that slaps you across the face with a truth most people avoid: you are responsible for EVERYTHING in your life and business.

It’s called Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin — two former Navy SEALs who don’t sugarcoat a damn thing.

Now, don’t worry, you don’t need to crawl through mud or eat bugs to benefit from it. What you will learn, though, is the mindset of taking full ownership—no excuses, no finger-pointing, no “blame the algorithm” whining.

Because here’s the deal: the moment you stop outsourcing responsibility and start saying “this is on me,” your business (and life) changes. Decisions get sharper. Execution gets faster. And most importantly, results actually show up.

Extreme Ownership isn’t a “nice to read” book. It’s a must-study manual if you want to stop being tossed around by problems and start leading yourself—and others—like a pro.

Read it. Digest it. Live it.
Your excuses won’t survive the first chapter.
