FROM MY WORLD

The ADHD We All Fake

Ever start a new project with fireworks in your eyes, only to ditch it two weeks later for the next “million-dollar” idea?

Yeah, me too.

Let’s not sugarcoat it: shiny object syndrome is a damn addiction. And the worst part? You don’t even realize you’re in it until you’ve blown thousands of dollars and wasted months of your life.

Now here’s the kicker… most people think they’re just “easily distracted.”

But what if I told you shiny object syndrome isn’t just a lack of focus?
It’s a psychological pattern… built on fear.
Fear of failure. Fear of success.

See, when you deep down don’t believe you can succeed, failure becomes this looming monster.
So instead of risking failure and feeling like a fool, you pivot.
To something new.
Something exciting.
Something that makes you feel like a winner… before you even win.

It’s self-sabotage in a sexy wrapper.

Now let’s talk fear of success—yes, it’s real. Ever been scared of outgrowing your friends?
Being judged for making money?
I’ve met so many people who unconsciously limit themselves just to avoid looking like a “show-off.”

But here’s the real gut punch:

Shiny object syndrome thrives in a world of endless content.
YouTube, TikTok, podcasts (yes, even mine), email newsletters—we’re drowning in advice.
So much so, that taking action feels overwhelming.

And if we’re really being honest…
Most of us never grew the hell up.
We’re adult bodies running on teenage emotions.
No rite of passage. No moment where someone says, “Congrats, you’re now responsible for your life.”

So when life throws us curveballs—like a breakup, a sick parent, or just a bad Tuesday—
We don’t power through.
We chase dopamine.
We scroll, we buy courses, we pivot.

And what do we call it? “Research.”

I’m not here to judge. I’ve lived this pattern more times than I care to admit.
But breaking it starts with awareness.

So next time you get that itch to chase something new…
Ask yourself:
“What am I trying to avoid right now?”

The answer might change your business.
Hell, it might just change your life.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

Chaos Forges Champions

Here’s something most people won’t tell you:

Rock bottom isn’t your end. It’s your proving ground.

Have you ever noticed how some people thrive after chaos? Like they’ve been forged in the fire while others melt?

That’s not luck.
That’s not talent.
That’s mindset.

See, your past—no matter how messy, dark, or flat-out ugly—doesn’t get to dictate your future.
But it will if you keep playing victim. If you keep blaming. If you keep hiding behind “that’s just how I am.”

Let me drop a truth bomb:

Most people aren’t stuck because of their circumstances. They’re stuck because they’ve made comfort their God.

They’d rather suffer in predictability than risk stepping into power.
They cling to the familiar, even when the familiar is destroying them.

But the ones who break free?

  • They’re the ones who turn pain into rocket fuel.

  • Who uses every loss, every screw-up, every humiliation as leverage.

  • Who ask themselves, “What if this isn’t the end? What if this is my beginning?”

Because here’s the cold, freeing truth:

  • You don’t need permission to change.

  • You don’t need approval to rise.

  • You don’t need anyone to save you.

You just need to decide.

To stop living the story that’s keeping you small.
To stop letting your worst moments define you.
To stop playing life on defense.

Your future isn’t waiting.
It’s begging.

Now go make it regret ever doubting you.

CURATED READS

Fear is Not the Boss

Look, if your dreams don’t scare the living daylights out of you—
They’re not big enough.

Enter: The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz.
This book isn’t some woo-woo “believe and achieve” nonsense.

It’s a battle manual for mental warfare—against the small thinking, self-doubt, and fear that’s been quietly sabotaging your goals for years.

Here’s the deal:
Most people don’t fail because they suck.
They fail because they think small, act small, and expect small.

Schwartz pulls no punches. He lays it out like it is:

  • Stop waiting to “feel ready.” Start acting like the badass version of you that already exists.

  • Stop making excuses. Start making progress.

  • Stop hoping success will “happen.” Start believing you actually deserve it.

This book slapped me upside the head and reminded me that mindset isn’t a “nice to have”—

It’s the engine behind every breakthrough, every win, every dollar in your bank account.

If you’re tired of playing it safe and shrinking to fit your environment…

This is your wake-up call.
