FROM MY WORLD

The One Thing I Learned from Failing at Prince of Persia

Ever notice how everyone’s addicted to scrolling? Like zombies, endlessly flicking their thumbs for the next 15-second dopamine hit. TikTok, Reels, Shorts — call them what you want — they’re the fast food of content. Tastes good. Goes down quick. Leaves you empty.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against the occasional TikTok binge. I’m human. But let’s call a spade a spade…

Short-form content is for the brain-dead. Long-form content? That’s where the buyers live.

This isn’t just some old-school marketer ranting about "back in my day" — although yes, I did grow up on video games that required actual patience. (Remember Prince of Persia? You had one hour to finish the game or start from scratch. Brutal. And I loved it.)

But this shift in content consumption? It's not just about attention spans. It's about engagement. It’s about how much someone cares about a subject.

And here’s the dirty little secret that most creators don’t want to admit…

If your stuff isn’t interesting, it doesn’t matter how long or short it is. No one’s paying attention either way.

But when do people care?

They’ll sit through an hour-long podcast.
They’ll read a 5,000-word blog post.
They’ll listen to a webinar until their AirPods die.

Hell, when I was researching countries to move to, I went down the YouTube rabbit hole, booked Zoom calls with expat consultants, and devoured entire email newsletters. Hours and hours of my life. Gone. Willingly. Because it mattered to me.

Same with stem cells. I researched until my eyes bled. Why? Because I wasn’t just “interested” — I was emotionally invested. And that’s the kind of audience that buys.

Here’s the truth bomb:

  • Long-form wins — when the reader is serious.

  • Short-form entertains. Long-form converts.

  • The debate isn’t about attention spans. It’s about relevance.

And if you still think nobody reads long emails, explain to me why I actually read my buddy Caleb Jones’ six-minute emails about freaking Afghanistan? (Spoiler: I’m not moving to Afghanistan.)

So no, I’m not here to convince you to write novels or make 3-hour webinars. But I am here to tell you this:

Your content needs to be exactly as long as it needs to be... to get the sale.
Not a word more. Not a word less. Period.

Let the others chase views with 15-second fluff.

We’ll focus on building loyalty, authority — and yes, bank accounts — with content that actually matters.

MY GIFT FOR YOU

MINDSET MAKEOVER

I Used to Be Addicted to the Grind …

Let me drop a truth bomb on you that might ruffle a few feathers:

Hustling is not a business strategy. It’s a coping mechanism.

There. I said it.

I know, I know — we live in a hustle-glorifying culture where grinding 80 hours a week is seen as some sort of badge of honor. But here's the raw truth most people don’t want to admit:

If your business stops working the moment you stop working…
you don’t have a business. You have a job with a fancy title.

I’ve been there. I’ve done the “grind till you drop” routine. Built success on pure adrenaline and caffeine. And yeah — at first, it feels like you’re conquering the world. You’re in control. You’re the boss.

But then…
The relationships start to crack.
Your health quietly erodes.
You become a slave to the very thing you thought would set you free.

That’s not freedom. That’s just a better-looking prison.

The real breakthrough?
It came when I realized that being a real entrepreneur isn’t just about escaping a boss — it’s about escaping the need to hustle.

And that only happens when you build systems.

Think of it like this:

Most entrepreneurs are bucket carriers. Every day, they run back and forth to the well, fetching water. The second they stop? No more water.

But the ones who truly win?
They build pipelines.
It’s slower at first. Less sexy. More grunt work behind the scenes. But once the system flows… the water never stops.

And that’s the shift — from being an entrepreneur to being a business owner.

One gives you adrenaline.
The other gives you peace of mind.

So here’s your mindset makeover for the week:

Hustle is for emergencies. Systems are for wealth.

If you’re grinding 24/7, it’s time to ask yourself:
Am I building a business… or just running on a treadmill with a logo?

CURATED READS

The Book That Made Me Rethink My Bank Account (and My Life)

Ever caught yourself hoarding money like you’re gonna win a prize for dying the richest dude in the cemetery?

Yeah… same here.

Then I read Die with Zero by Bill Perkins — and this book slapped me so hard, I swear I saw Benjamin Franklin blink on a $100 bill.

Here’s the premise: What if you’re doing money all wrong?
Not just saving too much… but actually stealing experiences from your future self because you’re too busy being “responsible.”

Bill doesn’t care about your retirement account. He cares about life ROI.
That means spending money at the right time in your life — when the experience will be richest, most meaningful, and worth the most.

Because what’s the point of having millions when you’re too old and stiff to get on a jet ski?

This book’s not about blowing cash. It’s about maximizing joy.
Strategically. Intentionally. Before it’s too damn late.

If you’ve ever obsessed over saving, hesitated to splurge on something you really wanted, or thought you were “winning” because your investment account looks sexy on paper, you need this book.

Read it. Argue with it. Then maybe go book that trip you keep putting off.
