FROM MY WORLD
Trip to Disney
A while back, I was running a coaching program where I showed people how to build agencies: sales calls, interviews, all the usual stuff. One day, I got on a call with a guy from Moldova. It’s a small country between Romania and Ukraine. Most people know it for its wine. You can drink it like water and somehow still feel fine.
He told me his story. He used to be a DJ and event host, always on stage in front of people. Then he had a stroke. Half his face dropped, and he couldn’t host anymore. He kept DJing, but it didn’t pay the bills, so he started looking for something else. Right away, I could tell he was smart, grounded, and really wanted to make it.
At the end of the call, I asked him a question I always like to ask: What’s the one thing that would make you feel like you’ve made it? His answer caught me off guard. He didn’t say money, freedom, or status. He said, I want to take my family to Disney. Not Florida—Disney Paris. I asked him how much it would cost. He said, $500.
I asked for his PayPal and sent him the money right then. No strings attached. I told him, whether or not you join the program, I want you to take your family to Disney. It just felt like the right thing to do. Years later, he told me he cried on that call. I honestly don’t remember that. What I do remember is he took his family to Disney, became one of my best students, and now he’s actually a coach in my program. He’s great at it.
A few years later, life happened. Visa problems. Suddenly, my wife and kids needed a place to go, and they needed it fast. Where did they end up? Moldova. Same country, same guy. He took in my whole family—my wife, my kids, everyone. Helped them settle in, looked after them, made sure they were okay. I hadn’t talked to him in five years, but he showed up right away.
Most people miss this part: it’s not just who you build relationships with, but how those relationships start. Generosity sticks around, even if you forget about it. I’ve seen it again and again. Even if a relationship doesn’t start strong, time can reset it. Broken connections can heal. Time really does give you a fresh start.

MINDSET MAKEOVER
Why Rolls-Royce Dreams Are for Broke Thinkers
I was at the Groove Mastermind not long ago, hanging out with some other people from the internet marketing world. It was just Anastasia and me this time—the kids stayed home. I decided to treat myself and rented a Rolls-Royce for a few days. Took some photos, shot some videos, had some fun. But honestly? It was a bit of a letdown.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice car. But I didn’t feel a huge difference compared to cars I’ve owned before. Even compared to an S-Class Mercedes, it wasn’t as big of a jump as I thought. I realized I still like a more intense, sporty drive—like my Porsche. So, no Rolls-Royce for me. Maybe I’ll try a Bentley next, or an Aston Martin. Who knows.
But here’s the mindset lesson hiding inside that experience.
I can afford a Rolls-Royce. I could walk into a dealership and buy one. Same with a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but I don’t. It’s not about the money; it just doesn’t feel right to me. And that matters.
People talk about mindset all the time, but most still think it’s just fluff. It’s not. How you feel about money, success, and lifestyle shapes what you actually do. That’s why I always recommend “The Trick to Money Is Having Some” by Stuart Wilde. It shows how your standards inside shape what happens outside.
Years ago, I rented an S-Class for the first time. Back then, I was driving a Chevy. Stepping into that kind of luxury changed something in me. Within a year or two, I owned one. The same thing happened when I first flew business class. That experience broke me in a good way. I can’t go back to coach class now, even on short flights. It just doesn’t make sense anymore. That’s my standard now.
This is why you see entrepreneurs lose everything and then build it back up. Sometimes even bigger than before. It’s not luck or tactics, it’s who they are. Once someone raises their standard inside, they just can’t go back. Their thinking pulls them up again.

FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE
The Science of Effective Hooks
I got to sit down with Michael Masterson, one of the minds behind turning Agora into a $1.6 billion publishing machine. A legendary copywriter and publisher. The kind of guy who still makes seasoned marketers shut up and listen.
We talked about hooks, big ideas, and why trying to sell with multiple benefits usually kills conversions. One idea. One theme. One emotional angle. That’s it. Anything more creates confusion—and confused prospects don’t buy.
We also went deep into curiosity—why it’s more powerful than fear, logic, or self-interest, especially in sophisticated markets. Masterson breaks down how the best copy pulls people in without revealing everything, and why clarity plus restraint beats cleverness every time.
If you want to understand how top-tier marketers think about attention—and why every email is really just a test of a single hook—this episode is required listening.
Listen carefully. This one can change how you write forever.

CURATED READS
Great Leads by Michael Masterson
If you’ve ever wondered why some promotions feel impossible to ignore while others disappear into the void, this book explains exactly why. Great Leads is all about the one big idea—the hook that pulls people in and carries an entire promotion on its back.
Most marketers try to sell everything at once. This book shows you why that’s a mistake—and how clarity, focus, and emotional resonance consistently outperform cleverness. It’ll change the way you think about emails, ads, headlines, and even YouTube videos. Once you read it, you’ll start seeing bad hooks everywhere… and you won’t be able to unsee them.
