FROM MY WORLD

Proof Is Useless Without This One Thing

Ever wonder why people don’t buy from you—even when your solution is clearly better, faster, shinier?

Yeah, me too. Until I figured out something so painfully obvious, I wanted to punch myself for missing it.

It’s not the product.
It’s not the price.
It’s not even the offer.

It’s trust.

And no, I’m not talking about that fluffy, HR-department kind of trust that’s built through "team-building retreats" and trust falls.

I’m talking about the kind of trust that keeps customers coming back for years…
…the kind that makes your JV partners text you back before their own spouse…
…the kind that lets you raise your prices and still get “shut up and take my money” vibes.

That kind of trust starts with one unsexy principle:
Underpromise. Overdeliver.
Every damn time.

See, most marketers screw this up. They overpromise to get the sale—and then scramble like a caffeinated squirrel trying to make up for it on the backend.

But what happens when you flip that?
You create magic.

Because when people feel understood, they relax.
Their guard drops.
They stop evaluating and start believing.

That’s why I say you’ve got to understand your customers better than they understand themselves. Not just their demographics or what CRM they use. I’m talking about their deep, weird, can’t-sleep-at-night kind of pain.

The same rule applies with partners. When someone feels like you “get them,” they’re way more open to deals—even if it means compromise on their end. Empathy is your secret leverage.

But don’t stop there. Once they feel that you care, back it up. With proof.
The kind you can’t fake.

Tax returns.
Before-and-afters.
Photos with celebrities.
TV appearances.
Even old-school authority like speaking at events or showing up on a podcast.

Testimonials? Meh.
They only work after they trust you. Not before.
It’s like cologne—fine once they’re close enough to care, useless from across the room.

And social proof? That’s your nuclear weapon.
Be seen with the right people. Speak in the right places. Build authority, not just credibility.

Bottom line?

People don’t buy the best solution. They buy from the person they trust the most.
And trust is built—not bought.

Your next big sale might not come from a better funnel.
It might come from giving a damn—and proving it.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

What I Did Alone at 11 PM for Months

Let’s get something straight.

You don’t need to be original.
Not at first. Not even in the middle.
And maybe—not ever.

I know, I know…
You’ve been brainwashed by social media gurus, college professors, and corporate zombies to “be unique,” “find your voice,” and “stand out from the crowd.”

Here’s a better idea:
Blend in first.
Steal shamelessly. Copy ruthlessly.
Then—and only then—dare to be different.

Because in this game, success doesn’t come from being a creative snowflake.
It comes from imitation, repetition, and ruthless execution.

That’s how I learned.

I used to sit down late at night, fried from a full day of work, and hand-copy old-school sales letters from legends like Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert, and John Carlton.
Not to “study” them.
Not to “analyze” them.
But to literally copy every damn word until their rhythm, flow, and psychological jabs sank into my bones.

I didn’t want to become a copywriter.
I wanted to make money.
But to make money, I had to think like a copywriter.
So I started thinking like one—by mimicking the best.

And guess what?

That’s how every great marketer starts.
Swipe files. Templates. Copy/paste jobs.
It’s not lazy—it’s essential.

Even now, years later, my campaigns still echo the voices of those who came before me.
Sure, I’ve added my own flavor.
Sure, I’ve twisted and tweaked and rebranded things into “mine.”
But the foundation? The skeleton?
All borrowed. All built on the backs of giants.

Let me leave you with this:

If you’re struggling to “find your style”…
If you feel like a fraud for copying other people’s stuff…
If you’re holding back because you think it has to be original to be valuable…

Stop.

Your breakthrough won’t come from trying to be different.
It’ll come from being a damn good copycat…
until you’re ready to outgrow your idols.

So go ahead—steal.
Steal first. Shine later.

“Passion Struck” by John R. Miles

Let me guess…

You’ve got goals.
Big ones.
But somehow—between client drama, traffic hell, and mindless scrolling—you’re not exactly setting the world on fire.

Sound familiar?

Then “Passion Struck” is your next wake-up call.

This book ain’t fluff. It’s not your typical “rah-rah, go find your purpose” motivational nonsense.
John R. Miles breaks down twelve no-BS principles for unlocking your actual purpose—not the one you pretend to have when someone asks at a networking event.

This is about igniting an intentional life where everything you do is on purpose, with purpose, and for a purpose.

What do I love?
He doesn’t let you hide behind excuses.
You’ll walk away from this book either fired up or mad at yourself—maybe both. And honestly, that’s the best kind of book.

Highly recommended if:

  • You’re stuck in “busy” mode but not really building anything

  • You want to feel lit up again—like you did when this whole online game was new

  • You’re craving clarity, momentum, and something that actually feels meaningful

Warning: Don’t read this unless you’re ready to stop tolerating your own crap.
