FROM MY WORLD

Is Your List Dead?

Here’s a scenario I hear all the time: You’ve spent weeks (or months) building your email list.

You’re sending out emails regularly—helpful tips, valuable insights, maybe even a few pitches.

But the sales? Crickets. Nothing but tumbleweeds rolling through your bank account.

Frustrating, right?

You might be thinking, “What’s wrong with my list? Are they just a bunch of tire-kickers?”

The truth? Maybe

But here’s the thing: most often, the problem isn’t your list—it’s how you’re treating them.

Let me walk you through the six most common reasons why your list isn’t buying and what you can do about it:

  1. You’re Not Selling Enough

If you’re not pitching regularly, your list isn’t going to magically throw money at you. A lot of marketers get stuck in the “value, value, value” mindset without realizing that selling is also value. Your income is directly tied to how often you make offers. Period.

  2. You’re Selling What You Want, Not What They Want

I’ve been guilty of this myself. I used to think, “This is what they need—why wouldn’t they buy it?” But people don’t buy what they need—they buy what they want. Find out what excites them and sell that.

  3. You’re Speaking the Wrong Language

Your messaging needs to resonate with your audience. If your emails sound like they’re written for NASA engineers but your list is made up of beginner marketers, you’ve got a problem. Speak their language, and you’ll see the difference.

  4. Your Emails Aren’t Being Delivered

Sounds obvious, right? But you’d be surprised how many people don’t realize their emails are landing in spam folders. If your open rates are below 10%, you’ve got a deliverability issue that needs fixing.

  5. You’re Marketing to the Wrong Crowd

This one’s tough to swallow. But sometimes, your list just isn’t the right fit. Maybe they’re freebie seekers, or they’re not passionate about the niche. If that’s the case, it’s time to pivot and find a more profitable audience.

  6. Your List Doesn’t Trust You

This one hurts, but it’s the truth. If your audience doesn’t see you as an authority or trust your recommendations, they’re not going to buy. Consistency, transparency, and empathy go a long way in building trust.

Here’s the kicker: sometimes, fixing just one of these areas can create a massive shift. It’s like flipping a switch. Suddenly, your list goes from dead weight to a cash machine.

So, the next time you’re wondering why your list isn’t buying, take a step back and analyze these six factors.

The answers are often right in front of you.

MINDSET MAKEOVER

What It Took to Make My First $100K

When I first stumbled into the self-help world, I did what any desperate beginner would: I bought into the affirmations hype.

Every morning, I stood in my tiny apartment, shouting into the void like a man possessed: “I’m a money magnet! I’m wealthy beyond belief!”

Did it work? Well, let’s just say my bank account disagreed.

You see, affirmations can feel like empty words when they don’t reflect your reality. And honestly? That’s why most people give up on them.

Imagine yelling, “I easily attract money and abundance!” while dodging collection calls. It feels fake, right? That’s because it is—until you internalize it.

Here’s what I realized: affirmations don’t work because you say them; they work because you believe them.

But belief doesn’t come from chanting. It comes from experience.

When I hit my first major milestone—making $100K in less than a year—it wasn’t affirmations that got me there. It was sheer hustle, sleepless nights, and an insatiable hunger to escape mediocrity.

Only after I succeeded did affirmations like “I’m a money magnet” start to resonate. Why? Because now, I had proof. I could look at my achievements and say, “Yes, this is true.”

I’m not against affirmations. They can work if you understand one crucial thing—affirmations need emotional impact.

Saying “The less I work, the more I make” felt ridiculous when I was grinding 18-hour days. But once I learned to leverage systems and teams, it clicked.

I wasn’t just saying the words; I was living them.

Let me leave you with this: affirmations aren’t magic spells.

They won’t rescue you from your reality. But when paired with action and emotional conviction, they can reshape how you think—and that can change your life.
