Why Are We Afraid to Talk About Money? 

I used to think sharing my best secrets was like handing out dollar bills on the street. Why give away the goldmine when I could keep it all to myself?

Blame my upbringing. In my family, success—especially financial success—was something you hid like the last slice of cake at a family reunion.

Because if people knew you had it, one of two things would happen:

  1. Someone would show up at your door asking for a “piece of the pie.”

  2. They’d try to steal your pie altogether.

So, naturally, I learned to hoard. I kept my wins quiet and my strategies even quieter.

Then I stumbled onto people like Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor, and Napoleon Hill—guys preaching abundance and sharing.

And I’ll be honest… I thought they were full of it. Because where I came from, if someone won, someone else lost. That’s just how the game worked.

But here’s the thing: I was wrong.

The internet changed everything. We’re living in a world now where there’s more money floating around than anyone can even count.

And the truth? I could spill my best business secrets for free—heck, I’ve done it on stage—and it wouldn’t make me any less successful.

You know what it did do? It made people like me more. It made them trust me. And in the end, that’s what builds wealth—relationships and attention.

Because attention is currency.

And most people? They won’t even act on the advice you give them anyway. I still don’t get it. When I started, I was hungry for any edge I could find—free or not. 

But today? Most people hoard information instead of using it. And you know what I realized? There’s no downside to giving. None.
